Estacada Community Foundation has established an endowment fund with the Oregon Community Foundation
Recognizing the importance that stable funding represents to the Estacada Community, in August 2007 the Estacada Community Foundation’s (ECF) Board of Directors transferred a portion of ECF funds to the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) to continue growing our permanent endowment far into the future. Our new Estacada Community Foundation Fund is overseen by OCF’s board and investment committee, and the assets are invested as part of the OCF’s professionally managed $930 million asset pool. In turn, Estacada Community Foundation will receive distributions from our fund, and can add to it at any time.
The Oregon Community Foundation is a statewide nonprofit organization that administers permanent charitable funds established through gifts and bequests from individuals, families, businesses and other organizations. OCF currently manages over 1,166 permanent funds with assets over $930 million.
Contributions can be given either to the Estacada Community Foundation, or directly to the Oregon Community Foundation for our fund.
In addition, our new endowment partnership offers our community the option of making a planned gift - often called a deferred gift - that will ultimately benefit our endowment fund. OCF staff works with our staff and donors to plan such as simple bequests, charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities, personal property (automobiles or boats), and gifts of real property. OCF can serve as trustee and manager of these planned gifts. In some cases, they can provide income to a donor(s) during his or her lifetime(s). The remainder of the assets at the end of the donor’s life is then added to Estacada Community Foundation endowment fund.
